Assessment #2 – Media relations tactics: Developing a Media Relations Toolkit

This task comprises two (2) parts and four (4) written tasks in total.

 

BOTH parts must be completed IN FULL and submitted via CANVAS by 11:59pm 25 October 2020.

 

Using the templates provided in class, this task requires you to develop a Media Relations Toolkit for a new campaign/event/services launch for one of the organisations/ initiatives represented in our Guest Industry Speaker program.

 

For the purposes of this assessment task, a Media Relations Toolkit comprises:

 

  1. Media Release
  2. Backgrounder
  3. Media List
  4. Media Plan

There are four (4) written tasks that you will work on in class and complete in your own time.

 

PART ONE:  Write a Media Release AND Backgrounder for a new campaign/event/services launch for one of the organisations/ initiatives represented in our Guest Industry Speaker program.

 

PART TWO: Develop a Media List AND Media Plan for the distribution of your media release and backgrounder.

The Media Releases, Backgrounders, Media Lists and Media Plans will be marked to the elements expected of communications formats that are ready and able to be distributed to the media.
