Credit Card Incentives
You work for a retailer that provides individual pay incentive bonuses for signing up
customers for the retailer’s credit cards. You work in the hardware department and many
of your customers are Hispanic. Many of these customers only speak Spanish and always
pay cash. Your manager knows that you speak Spanish and continues to push you to offer
these credit cards to these customers. The cards have an interest rate of 20% per year.
When you mention it to these Hispanic customers, they are very excited they qualify for
credit and many sign up. You are concerned that they do not understand credit cards. You
think they might get into debt and this makes you uncomfortable. What do you do?
