Financial Management

Please answer each of the following questions in detail and provide in-text citations in support of your argument. Include examples whenever applicable. Make sure to provide examples for each of the questions below.

1. Describe and explain the significance of each of the following: payback period, internal rate of return (IRR), modified internal rate of return (MIRR), net present value (NPV), and profitability index (PI). Explain. Provide examples for better clarity.
2. Discuss the notions of conventional and nonconventional cash flows in capital budgeting. Which investment evaluation criteria would you use for unconventional cash flows and why? Provide a fictitious unconventional cash flow example and apply the payback period, NPV, IRR, MIRR, and PI methods to your example. Interpret the results

Financial Management

Please note this CLA 1 assignment consists of two separate parts. The first part gives the cash flows for two mutually exclusive projects and is not related to the second part. The second part is a capital budgeting scenario.

Part 1
Please calculate the payback period, IRR, MIRR, NPV, and PI for the following two mutually exclusive projects. The required rate of return is 15% and the target payback is 4 years. Explain which project is preferable under each of the four capital budgeting methods mentioned above:

Part 2
Please study the following capital budgeting project and then provide explanations for the questions outlined below:

You have been hired as a consultant for Pristine Urban-Tech Zither, Inc. (PUTZ), manufacturers of fine zithers. The market for zithers is growing quickly. The company bought some land three years ago for $2.1 million in anticipation of using it as a toxic waste dump site but has recently hired another company to handle all toxic materials. Based on a recent appraisal, the company believes it could sell the land for $2.3 million on an after-tax basis. In four years, the land could be sold for $2.4 million after taxes. The company also hired a marketing firm to analyze the zither market, at a cost of $125,000. An excerpt of the marketing report is as follows:
The zither industry will have a rapid expansion in the next four years. With the brand name recognition that PUTZ brings to bear, we feel that the company will be able to sell 3,600, 4,300, 5,200, and 3,900 units each year for the next four years, respectively. Again, capitalizing on the name recognition of PUTZ, we feel that a premium price of $750 can be charged for each zither. Because zithers appear to be a fad, we feel at the end of the four-year period, sales should be discontinued. PUTZ believes that fixed costs for the project will be $415,000 per year, and variable costs are 15 percent of sales. The equipment necessary for production will cost $3.5 million and will be depreciated according to a three-year MACRS schedule. At the end of the project, the equipment can be scrapped for $350,000. Net working capital of $125,000 will be required immediately. PUTZ has a 38% tax rate, and the required rate of return on the project is 13%.

Now please provide detailed explanation for the following:
· Explain how you determine the initial cash flows
· Discuss the notion of sunk costs and identify the sunk cost in this project
· Verify how you determine the annual operating cash flows
· Explain how you determine the terminal cash flows at the end of the project’s life
· Calculate the NPV and IRR of the project and decide if the project is acceptable
· If the company that is implementing this project is a publicly traded company, explain and justify how this project will impact the market price of the company’s stock

Provide your explanations and definitions in detail and be precise. Comment on your findings. Provide references for content when necessary. Provide your work in detail and explain in your own words. Support your statements with peer-reviewed in-text citation(s) and reference(s). All PA and CLA submissions require at least six (6) peer-reviewed references which should include the source of the data

Digital Marketing 2.0

Overview
Search engine optimization (SEO) is a key digital marketing discipline. A company’s website is the central hub of its digital presence, therefore it’s important to ensure that it can be found by an online search. Strategic SEO is closely aligned with traditional marketing techniques and is most effective when fundamental principles such as good content, design, and user experience are employed. The goal of optimizing your website for search engines and the end user is ultimately centered on getting your product information in front of a highly targeted audience at the very instance when they are looking to consume your product. In this assignment, you will research and develop a basic SEO strategy.
What You’ll Need
• Your TechKit including laptop
• Internet for research
• At least 3 credible sources (Wikipedia does not count)
Prepare
Reuse the entertainment product or service from week one that you thought of for Project 1.
Think of three distinct audience personas for the target customers you described in the Project 1 assignment who will likely search for your product. Remember to include target group details such as demographic, geographic, psychographic, benefits sought, and patterns of use. For example, “Jane is a woman in her early twenties, single, who shares an apartment in Los Angeles. Fiercely independent, her busy lifestyle includes a full-time job and night school. Jane is always looking for time-saving solutions.”
Think of a focused list of keyword phrases that your target customers are likely to use when searching for your product. Your list must include a minimum of three short-tail keywords and three long-tail keywords. Reference the audience personas you’ve created as an insight to the personality and potential behaviors of your customers.
Create:
Prepare an audio Keynote or PowerPoint Presentation or a Word document. Be sure your presentation addresses each of the following elements:
1. List and describe the three distinct audience personas you created for the target customers you described in the Project 1 assignment who will likely search for your product.
2. Create a list of three short-tail and three long-tail keyword phrases that your target audience will probably use when conducting an online search for your product. Reference the audience personas you’ve created as an insight to the personality and potential behaviors of your customers. Avoid single word terms that are broad such as “film,” “music,” “TV,” and “entertainment” as these are too generic to drive traffic to your website. Explain why you’ve chosen each one.
3. Test each of the keyword phrases (a minimum of six) by entering them into the Google search bar.
Capture a screenshot for each results page.
Include the top two organic (not ads) search results for each keyword phrase in the screen grab.
Answer the following question:
Are any results direct competitors to your fictitious entertainment product?
4. Create a fictitious URL for your entertainment product or service website. You may not use an existing URL, so check by entering your fictitious URL into the search field at instantdomainsearch.com. Consider the keyword research you’ve completed thus far as a determining factor. What URL did you create?
5. Create the title tag for the home page of your website and explain why you chose it. Remember, title tags are critical for SEO and should be written to reflect an accurate description of a web page’s content. According to moz.com, the ideal length is 50-60 characters and the closer to the start of the title tag a keyword is, the more helpful it will be for ranking.
6. Write one thoughtful paragraph describing the role SEO plays on influencing organic search rankings. Include references to the tools, methods, and traditional marketing principles that should be utilized when developing an SEO strategy. Explain what optimization factors influence SEO metrics including keywords, rankings, and conversions.
7. Write one thoughtful paragraph of original content relevant to your product that you will use on your website to generate external inbound links. Outstanding content is the most important factor in effective SEO. Write clearly, grab the reader’s attention, and use a conversational style as if you’re talking to an individual.
8. Write one thoughtful paragraph describing the interaction of your SEO strategy and at least one other digital marketing channel such as social media, blogging, pay-per-click (PPC), mobile, or email. How do the target audience, consumer behavior, and campaign goals help to determine the digital marketing channels you will use? How do SEO and the digital marketing channel you’ve selected support each other in driving traffic and generating conversions? What are the pros and cons of SEO compared to the channel selected?
9. Write one thoughtful paragraph explaining how a company’s website is the central hub of a successful digital marketing strategy.
Cite resources using both in-text citations, and a separate reference page. Incorporate the concepts and terminology learned from this week’s readings into the paper, demonstrating how the keywords you chose reflect the concepts learned about in the Read and View activities.
Submit
1. If your project was completed as a Keynote or PowerPoint, save it as a QuickTime Video.
2. If your project was completed as a Word document, save it as a PDF document.
3. Name your video or your PDF as follows:

RESEARCH PAPER
Look at the Conceptual Model of HR.
Choose one area you find interesting.
Based on your own
experiences and readings, what would you like to see happen in that area?
For instance, in
Total Rewards/Compensation, maybe you’d like to have paid family medical leave.
In
performance management, perhaps you would like to have a particular type of appraisal
process.
Or, if you’re looking at employee relations, maybe you’d like to adopt a teleworking
policy at an organization.
Maybe you see a change in the labor pool, law, or technology that
will impact your chosen HR area and you want to address how such change will be
incorporated.
Once you’ve identified a specific area to explore, ask:
If I had to propose this idea to executive
management, how could I address the pro vs. con questions:
–How might it impact a hypothetical organization’s strategic direction and operations? Why
would an organization want or not want to do this?
–How might it impact employees? Why would employees want or not want this?
–What impact would it have on other parts of the HR system?
Would other dimensions of HR
need to change in order for my proposal to work?
What support might be needed from the
other HR areas?
For instance, would we have to pay more, revise job descriptions, train staff,
or lay-off people?
–How would we measure whether my proposed idea succeeded?
–What are real organizations doing about this?
Give at least one specific, referenced example.

Leadership Challenges in Community Colleges

400-500 words

Every leader is faced with a challenge at some point in their career. In this question, respond to the following case scenario to address the challenge outlined. Answer the questions from the perspective of a college leader. Has your institution ever dealt with a similar situation?
Case Scenario
The chair of your college’s counseling department informs you that she has heard that high school counselors are telling juniors and seniors not to consider attending a community college. She tells you that high school students are being told that community colleges are low‐class institutions for losers. If students cannot be accepted by a major private university, they are told to apply to the nearest state university and to stay away from the local community college. High school publications indicate that 25 percent of graduating seniors are accepted directly into universities. No mention is ever made of how many graduates attend the local community college.
What issues does the scenario create? What leadership competencies are involved? Who should be involved in addressing the situation? What actions would you take? Are there lessons to be learned? (Boggs & McPhail, 2016, p. 12).

Drama or Poetry essay

Drama Essay Guidelines
Length: 2-3 pages of text (750-1000), double spaced with an additional works cited page of 1-2 sources.

Format: Use MLA manuscript format. For more about MLA Format, see the Course Directions folder.
Topic: For this essay, you’ll develop a thesis about your chosen play/film. You will use evidence from both the text and film and some sources to support your argument. In other words, you do NOT merely summarize, or even just explain the play, but think deeply about a text and film through all of its parts (which you’ve already done in your drama analysis/essay prewriting discussion). Then you generate an arguable claim that becomes a thesis for a polished essay.
This essay, as you’ve seen in your prewriting, is somewhat different in that it is really an evaluative comparison. An evaluation is argumentative–you explore the evidence you have from your analysis discussion and then use it to support argumentative topic sentences (that is, ones that someone could disagree with).
One approach
The most common approach is to center your thesis on an evaluation of the film more broadly, asking how does the film fulfill, distort, or achieve the seeming overall intent of the play. You make use elements of drama that you used in your prewriting and use elements of film (lighting, acting, costumes, etc.) like those you used to evaluate Hamlet’s soliloquy as paragraph topics.
For example,
Topic Sentence: Other casting choices, like for the character of Ophelia, were fabulous.
Supporting Passages in the paragraph:
In the play, Ophelia is genuinely crazy with grief at Polonius’s death. She . . .
In the film Regina Carter appropriately downplays her love for Hamlet, and emphasizes her love for her father. . .
Another approach
From your earlier essay writing, you learned some approaches to generating topics on page 1892-1897. You may use those prompts again if you want a more narrow thesis focused on a few aspects of the play and film. For example, from that list of topic approaches, you could examine the world view of a character from beginning to end and compare it to how the film fulfills or distorts the play’s message with regard to that worldview.
For example,
Topic Sentence: Paul’s early development from the play to the film makes him seem like another character entirely.
Supporting Passages in the paragraph:
In the first scene, Paul’s pessimistic worldview is established in his opening soliloquy. He states ” . . .
In the film, this speech is cut into three parts, one of them not appearing until mid-way through the play when on the page Paul is to be much more evolved . . .
