Discussion: Interacting With Diverse Populations,

Despite the perception that there is a clash of cultures—as represented in the media, proclaimed by politicians, or discussed on social media—you may encounter diverse but integrated cultures more regularly than you realize. In the military, different cultures integrate into a unique military culture, just as diverse cultures integrate into the unique culture of your town or city. In this Discussion, you use a similar understanding to predict how different cultures might integrate into a military social work setting.
