Sanitation And Safety

Scenario:

Bill the waiter was up all night with stomach cramps. On several occasions, he visited the restroom with diarrhea and vomiting.  The following morning Bill found it difficult to get ready for work even though his symptoms of diarrhea and vomiting had stopped.  He decided to call into work and take the day off to recover.  

Early that morning Bill contemplated calling his supervisor and taking off work, he knew the restaurant was short-staffed and was always very busy.  Bill decided to call Susan his boss. Susan asked Bill what his symptoms were. Then she asked if he could come in for a short time just to get them through the busy rush. Susan was not worried because he was no longer showing signs of vomiting or having diarrhea. Bill arrived at work, washed his hands and proceeded to work part of his shift, and then go home.

  2. What could Susan have done differently?
