Assignment description

 

Develop a web-based project as part of a system for “Real Estate finder: which is mainly responsible for providing the real estate seller, and buyer the opportunity to sell, or buy a property” over two phases. The system should enable any registered seller to: add, update, or delete his\her property. The system should also allow registered buyers to view available properties along with their data and prices.

 

Hint: you should search for property attributes (not less than 4) other than ID, name and price from the internet and give the associated reference.

 

Phase 1 (GUI)  [40 marks]

 

At phase 1, develop the client interface to provide the following tasks [7 marks for each task]:

Differentiating user in the client side [5 marks]

 

For seller users only:

  • Add a property
  • Delete a property using its ID

 

For both registered sellers and buyers:

  • View property details using its ID
  • Search for property that have specific values for one of the attributes (not less than 3 attributes)
  • View all available properties Hint:

Provide the necessary attributes and GUI interfaces and use the necessary communicating protocol.

 

Phase 2 (Server-side service) [50 marks]

 

At phase 2, develop five web-side services using the JAVA programming languages. For each service listed in phase one, you should provide a website service using JAVA and provide the required security for your services to grant access only to authorized users [10 marks for each service, a total of 50 marks].

 

Here are some details regarding the functionality of some services:

  • Add a property: this service should store on the server side in a file (in XML or JSON format) with the information passed from the client side. Please note that this service should first check if the property does already exist on the file, if found then price should be updated.
  • Delete property: this service should update the corresponding file.
  • View all available properties: this service should return the whole content of the file to the client to be presented in a user-friendly format.
  • View property details using its ID: return to the user the attributes of the required property.
  • Search for properties that have specific values for one of the attributes (not less than 3 attributes) and return all matching properties to be presented in a user friendly format

 

Hint:

Use the appropriate presentation format to save and read the necessary attributes to and from file.

 

 

 

 

Phase 3 (Using Cloud services) [10 marks]

 

The system is to be deployed over the Cloud for saving organization the cost of servers and other equipment and make use of remote resources. Design the infrastructure using either Openstack or AWS cloud services justifying the need for each component.

 

Instructions:

 

  1. Submit two files
  2. one zip file containing all the project’s folders, assuming that you are using NetBeans to develop your TMA, then you are required to send the whole project folder as a single zip file.
